Free books for children participating in local summer food services programs and summer school.
Midcoast Literacy gives free books to children so they can:
A staff member takes books to participating summer food services programs and summer school sites once a week. She invites children to browse through the wide selection of titles and select one or two to take home. Children can take home a free book or two each time they attend a Summer Books session.
Where to Find Us
This summer, our Summer Books program will be visiting locations in Brunswick, Bath, Harpswell, Woolwich, and Wiscasset every week. We are once again teaming up with the ArtVan, so for three locations we will visit on the same schedule as the ArtVan. You can find Summer Books:
TUESDAYS
8:00-10:00am at RSU1 summer school in Woolwich (July 11-25)
WEDNESDAYS
10:15-10:30am at Harpswell Neck PE Day Camp in Harpswell (July 5-26)
8:00-9:00am at Wiscasset Summer School (August 2-16)
10:00am at Georgetown Central School in Georgetown (ONE-TIME LOCATION ON AUGUST 2)
THURSDAYS
10:30-11:30am at Hyde Park Atlantic Townhouse Apartments in Bath (July 6-August 24) ***with ArtVan
12:30-1:30pm at Maritime Apartments in Bath (July 6-August 24) ***with ArtVan
2:00-3:00pm at Perryman Drive in Brunswick (July 6-August 24) ***with ArtVan
