Read With Me serves children and their families enrolled in Head Start Preschool, Pre-K and Early Head Start classrooms in the Midcoast area, and the Midcoast Maine Community Action Home Visitor programs.
We support families with young children to develop strong read-aloud routines at home. The more stories children hear, the more books they have in their homes, the more conversations they have with adult family members, the better prepared they will be to become readers themselves.

Read With Me for Head Start and Pre-K (ages 3-5)

• 9 monthly in-classroom story time/activity literacy sessions for children and their parents
• free books for all children every session

Read With Me for Early Head Start (ages 0-3)

• 7 monthly in-classroom story time/activity literacy sessions for children and their parents
• free books for all children every session

Home Visiting Program (for families with children ages 0-3)

• 3 early literacy workshops annually for Home Visitors
• 6 free books per family in the program to be given out during the weekly home visits
